Healthy Smoothie Recipes | Forever Young With Natural Superfoods
I remember the last day that I thought with a groan: “I don’t know what to make to eat today” – and I realized how silly I was, all those years trying to eat healthy and not liking cooking, why not make everyday a super healthy day by making my own health and energy smoothies!
That way I’ll get most of my nutritional requirements met easily and deliciously! Well since then I’ve been trying out many healthy smoothie recipes, and I’ll never go back to those sad food days.
How To Regain Your Youth And Health
Following is a superfood smoothie recipe that I initially got from David Wolfe but that I constantly adapt according to the fruit and vegetables I have available and that are in season. There are no hard or fast rules really, and you can use only half the ingredients mentioned, add ones you prefer, mix and match, and create many healthy smoothie recipes from this one.
He recommends a 60% greens and 40% fruits and flavoring ratio, but you can vary the quantities according to your taste buds and preferences.
The antioxidants that keep us young and restore our health are to be found in the color pigments in foods. The green foods contain vitamin K, chlorophyll, calcium, magnesium which has a calming effect on our minds and emotions and helps us to relax and meditate effectively. A combination of red foods is especially good in the morning for that much needed energy boost that will take us through the whole day.
The Superfood Healthy Smoothie ingredients:
- Strawberries
- Raspberries
- Acai
- fresh Coconut
- Goji berries – no 1 food to come out of and in Chinese medicine. Goji berries contain 18 amino acids, 21 trace minerals including germamium for immune system, and many poly saccharides
- Cacao powder and cacao butter. It is necessary to add an omega fatty acid oil (which is not manufactured in the body) to help absorb the minerals in the greens. For example, hair loss may indicate a mineral absorption problem.
- Other fatty acid foods you could add: Cashews, around 12 – for a sweet, creamy taste, and Flax Seed Oil
- Maca, which comes from Peru, a highland Andes food, a type of radish which is sweeter, with more oils and aids the endocrine system. Use only a small amount, about one tablespoon
- Sugar, unrefined, you can also use Stevia
- Spirulina, Blue-green Algae
- rainbow Kale, 5 leaves, without stems
- half Lemon
- Celery
- half Cucumber
- Water
- Pineapple
- Banana
- Parsley
Go on, give it a try, enjoy and I’ll do the same. To Your Health and Vitality!
How To Regain Your Youth And Health

I’m so worried about the direction our kids are heading in nowadays. Watching Jamie Olivers food revolution tv program scared the thingies out of me. I suggest we all start cooking some healthy recipes like these at home if we’re going to fix this horrible situation. The ones on that site seem pretty easy, I tried last night and it’s the first time my family has eaten well in ages, I just feel wonderful.
Interesting, thanks for that. My son has a total aversion to eating fruit , so I made it into smoothies for him and then he can’t get enough of it! I also found some great smoothie recipes here and thought I’d share – lots of other great ideas there.
Thanks for your comment. I will check out your link. Take care!
Good on you for taking action! And thanks for the info.
